Charges laid in missing toddler case
A 25-year-old woman is accused of being responsible for Sunday's abduction of a two-year-old girl.
RCMP have charged the girl's biological mother with abduction in contravention of a custody order and break and enter to a dwelling house. The woman appeared in a Medicine Hat courtroom Monday afternoon and will make her next court appearance Thursday.
A second person remains in police custody, but hasn't been charged yet.
The toddler was reportedly taken from her home in Redcliff, Alberta early Sunday morning.
On Monday morning, police said the girl was possibly travelling with her grandmother, who later brought the girl to the Jasper RCMP detachment.
Arrangements are now being made to get the girl home to her family.
