Kindergarten student left alone on school bus in Beaumont

A Beaumont mother is speaking out, after she discovered a little girl alone on a school bus long after her classmates had been dropped off.

Robyn Steed discovered the kindergarten student in an empty bus in a Beaumont parking lot around 8:45 Monday morning. She believes the little girl had been sitting unattended for at least 25 minutes.

Steed took the Ecole Beau Meadow student into a nearby coffee shop, while an employee tracked down the bus driver having breakfast at A&W.

Steed says the man didn't realize anyone was left on the bus, but she worries what would have happened if she hadn't have found the girl when she did.

"I burst into tears because I was so upset thinking what if it had been my kids, what if it had been minus 30 like last week, what if it hadn't have been me that found her? What if what if what if!?" she said.

Steed says the bus driver took the little girl from the coffee shop to school and has since apologized to the girl's parents.

The school division is conducting a review to determine what happened.
