It was a horrific crash that claimed the lives of a Red Deer couple, leaving five young children orphaned. This past February, a car carrying 34-year-old Brad Howe and his 35-year-old wife Krista was struck by a pick up truck at an intersection just blocks from their home. The couple was killed on scene.

Chad Mitchell Olsen, 23, who was charged in deaths of the couple pleaded guilty to two counts of impaired driving causing death on Monday morning in a Red Deer courtroom in front of dozens of the Howe's friends and family. He will be sentenced on April 27, 2011.

Until then, he remains free on bail. He is under 24-hour house arrest, but is allowed to leave the house for necessities of life to do shopping or go for medical appointments.

Brad and Krista Howe left behind five children between the ages of 4 and 14.
