Scott Ware was on his way to a Christmas Party on Saturday night when he found a wallet lying in the snow.

"I looked through it and went 'oh my god - no way," said Ware. Along with a woman's various pieces of identification, credit cards and debit cards, Ware found $750 dollars inside the wallet.

The wallet's owner, Sara Davidson, was going to use the cash to pay the damage deposit on a new place. She was eating dinner with her mother when she realized she was missing what she calls her "whole life."

"We backtracked over to where I worked. We were really upset," said Davidson's mother, Lynn Rae. "I didn't sleep and I'm sure she didn't either.

"I was freaking out for awhile and worrying about how I was going to replace everything," said Davidson.

After a sleepless night, Davidson's luck turned around though.

Ware contacted Global News and we tracked down Davidson for him. When Ware gave her the wallet, she was shocked that everything was still inside.

Ware admits he thought about keeping the cash, but ultimately decided against it. "It was crossing my mind 'Hmm maybe should I keep this and return the wallet.' But I wasn't brought up that way."

And after losing his wallet this year as well, Ware knows how stressful it can be. "To get your identification back, I'm still working on it and it's been 8 months," he said.

Ware's compassion is the best Christmas present Davidson could ask for. "It renews your faith in humanity, that's for sure, at Christmas time."
