The investigation continues in Fort McMurray in the case of two young men who died on Sunday evening.

Friends have identified the victims as 17-year-old twin brothers James and William Beck.

Police were called to Borealis Park in Fort McMurray just after 11:00 pm on June 26th after reports of an assault.

The two young men were found at the scene, and transported to the Northern Lights Regional Hospital, where they passed away.

A memorial has been set up in the park, and friends of the brothers have been gathering at the scene to remember the young men.

For James's girlfriend, it's been an emotional rollercoaster.

"Just felt like it wasn't real, whenever my phone vibrates or whatever I feel like it's him texting me or something." Holly Payne said.

"They're very popular boys. They helped out, they had big hearts. We do a lot of service work at the school helping those in need and whenever we needed an extra hand, they were both there."

The twins reportedly went to Father Patrick Mercredi Community High School, and were set to graduate next year.

Police say they are treating both deaths as suspicious.

Anyone with information about the case is asked to call Wood Buffalo RCMP at (780) 788-4000 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).
