Edmonton girl, 5, dies after waterpark incident in the Bahamas

Brooklyn Rattai, a 5-year-old girl from Edmonton died Thursday after an incident at the Atlantis Paradise Island resort on the tropical island country off the coast of Florida a press officer from the Paradise Island Police Station has confirmed.

The incident happened on Monday, and Rattai was transported to hospital where she passed away on Thursday, April 7th.

An official from the resort also made a statment on Thursday about the death of the young girl.

"We can confirm that there was a drowning incident in a pool in our waterpark on Monday involving a five-year-old girl," a resort spokesperson said. "She passed away (Thursday) morning in the hospital and we are doing everything in our power to assist the family during this very difficult time. Our thoughts and prayers go out to them."
