Injured soldiers and their families who come to Edmonton for treatment will soon have a home away from home.

On Tuesday morning, a groundbreaking ceremony was held for Valour Place, a $10M facility that will feature 12 wheelchair accessable rooms for soldiers, with adjoining suites for families.

The project will be built on a site southwest of Kingsway Mall.

Municiple, provincial and military dignitaries were on hand for the groundbreaking.

Construction on Valour Place is scheduled to be completed by spring 2012.
