Charges laid in homicide 16

Police have laid charges against Michael Anderson, 50, in connection with Edmonton's 16th homicide of the year.

Anderson has been charged with second degree murder, possession of a weapon, and possession of a narcotic in connection with the death of Michael Roach , 49.

Investigators were called to the area of 100 Street and 105A Avenue at 9:00 pm on Sunday, April 3rd.

Roach was found at the scene, suffering from life threatening injuries.

He was transported to hospital, where he passed away.

An autopsy was completed on Roach's body on April 5th. According to the autopsy report, Roach died of a stab wound.

Anderson is scheduled to appear in court later this week.
