The Woman of Vision series was launched on ITV News in 1995. Winner of two national broadcasting awards, it is produced and hosted by Lesley MacDonald.
The program celebrates local women who demonstrate a strong vision. Their leadership and success enrich our lives and make our community a better place in which to live. Their stories show the rewards of overcoming adversity and following through on a vision.
It is hoped they will serve as an inspiration to others, particularly young women about to make career choices, so that they too are motivated to develop their own vision.
AWARDS SUMMARY:
The annual awards luncheon is the highlight of the Global Woman of Vision program. Held every March, the consistently sold-out event (700+ audiences) pays tribute to the 12 recipients featured on Global Television from April to March during the past year.
In keeping with our theme, "Building our tomorrow with the young women of today" bursaries are awarded at the luncheon to help young women realize their own vision.
As well, the tickets of 50 female high school students are paid for by generous sponsors to inspire these girls to consider where their vision will lead them. This emotional, spirit-lifting event is enhanced by the words of wisdom from the Women of Vision themselves.

Date: Friday, March 15th, 2013
Location: The Westin Hotel in Downtown Edmonton (10135-100 Street), Main Ballroom on 2nd Level.
Time: 11:15 - Noon - Reception & Check-in, Noon - 2:00pm - Luncheon & main program
Ticket Price: $75 + GST each. Tables of 10 are available for $750 + GST.
Tickets Include: Featured plated three course lunch from the Westin, amazing door prizes & swag bag! Personal stories will be shared by all 12 Woman of Vision Recipients and more!
Dress Code: Business Casual

Meet the Advisory Board for the Woman of Vision Luncheon:
Global Edmonton is committed to exposing others to the talents, successes and great achievements of women who have made a difference in the community and in their field. The Global Woman of Vision Advisory board, chaired by Lesley MacDonald, operates in co-operation with Global Edmonton. This group of career women from a variety of industry sectors reviews nominations received from the public, selects the women to be featured in the television series and oversees the coordination of the annual luncheon. Board members are committed volunteers.
