Linda Nguyen

Linda Nguyen keeps Edmontonians informed every weekend on the News Hour and also with reports during the week.

Born and raised in Edmonton, AB., Linda is no stranger to the City of Champions. After graduating with distinction from the University of Alberta with a BA in Psychology, Linda moved on to NAIT where she received her Broadcast Journalism diploma.

Linda started her television career in the Global Edmonton newsroom in 2005 as a production assistant while going to school at NAIT. From behind the scenes to in front of the camera, Linda started reporting as an intern at CH Red Deer in 2006, shortly after landing her first on-air gig with Global Saskatoon. After a year she returned to Edmonton as the host of Star Report for CTS Television. But, later realized, her passion was with News, now back with the Global Edmonton team.

Linda has received several awards and distinctions including the Deans List, while at the U of A, the Dr. Charles Allard Award, and the Jason Lang Scholarship. When she’s not at work, she can be found spending time with family and friends, or reading a good book. Linda enjoys playing basketball, travelling, and watching movies. Her favourite food is sushi.
