Laurel Clark
Night Watch Reporter
Laurel Clark keeps Edmontonians informed during Edmonton's favourite late night newscast, News Hour Final.
Laurel has reported on major news events in all three capitals on the Prairies. Some of the most poignant parts of her career include covering the funeral for Greyhound bus murder victim Tim McLean Jr. in Winnipeg, the sentencing of Christopher Pauchay, the man accused of leaving his two children to freeze in the snow in Saskatchewan, and the Spring 2009 wildfires in Fort McMurray, AB. Laurel says "The most rewarding part of the job is when you discover your story has made a difference in someone's life. I believe in the work we do, so when I see people benefit from the stories we tell it's incredibly fulfilling."
Laurel graduated with a Bachelor of Journalism Highest Honours from Carleton University in Ottawa. She's won several awards including CTV Scholarship for outstanding work as a broadcast student. She interned with CBC London (England) for six weeks during university, producing a documentary about a British researcher who lives with wolves.
Born and raised in Winnipeg, Laurel now calls the City of Champions home. When she's not reporting the news, Laurel enjoys running, spending time outside and dining at Edmonton's tasty restaurants. She also enjoys travelling, and she's backpacked through Southeast Asia and various parts of Europe.
