Erin Chalmers
Reporter/Anchor
Erin Chalmers brings the news to you every weekend on the News Hour at 6.00 and News Final at 11.00 on Global Edmonton. She also works during the week as a reporter.
Erin was born and raised in Edmonton. As young child, she loved to talk, so Erin knew broadcasting was the career for her.
After graduating from NAIT, Erin headed to Brandon, Manitoba. She spent just over two years there as the noon news anchor/reporter for CKX before making her way to Global Regina. There, she worked as a reporter and the weekend anchor for a little over a year. Then Erin made her way back to Alberta and worked as the 5.00 PM and 11.00 PM anchor at CHCA News in Red Deer. In 2008, she moved back to Alberta's capital to work at Global Edmonton.
"It is so wonderful to be back in Alberta. Although my time in Manitoba and Saskatchewan gave me the opportunity to meet such wonderful people and make friends that I will have forever, there's nothing like being at home. Plus, now I can watch my nephew Kye grow-up, which is so important to me."
During her spare time, Erin likes to spend time with family and friends. She's also excited to get back into downhill skiing, because as she says... "nothing can compare to skiing the Rocky Mountains."
