HINTON, Alta. - Several cars on a Canadian National freight train have derailed on the main line between Hinton and Grande Cache in western Alberta.
CN spokesman Warren Chandler says 11 loaded coal cars collided with a stationary CN train on Wednesday just after noon.
Chandler says three crew members were involved but just one suffered injuries and was taken by helicopter to a nearby hospital.
CN officials and the Transportation Safety Board are investigating.
A spokesman for the region's disaster services says the derailment happened in an unpopulated area that is not reachable by road.
