Star gazers got quite a treat last night when a bright light streaked across the sky above Alberta and Saskatchewan.
Witnesses went to Twitter to say they saw a blue and pink flash Tuesday evening between Lloydminster and Saskatoon that lasted just a few seconds.
One person who was driving near Martensville, just north of Saskatoon, describes seeing a ball of fire suddenly light up the sky.
Allan Hildebrand, with the University of Calgary's department of geosciences, suggests that whatever caused the flash probably wasn't man-made space junk.
He says if anything fell to the ground, it probably landed in Saskatchewan.
