Abbotsford murder victim identified as Edmonton gangster

A 31-year-old man from Edmonton has been identified as the victim of a homicide in Abbotsford, B.C., last weekend.

The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) said the man killed was known-gangster Jimmy Chau.

Chau was found in a field Sunday morning by a passing motorist.

“An autopsy has been completed and although the cause of death will not be released I can tell you the injuries are consistent with a homicide," said Sgt. Jennifer Pound from IHIT. "Mr. Chau is known to police and at this time this appears to be a targeted and gang related homicide."

Investigators are still asking for anyone with information to step forward.

Anyone can contact IHIT by calling 1-877-551-IHIT(4448) or by email at ihittipline@rcmp-grc.gc.ca
