RCMP have released security video of Lyle McCann filling up his motorhome with gas at the St. Albert Superstore gas bar. McCann and his wife Marie have been missing since they left their St. Albert home on July 3, 2010 bound for Abbotsford B.C.
In the meantime, RCMP in Alberta have now wrapped up their ground search of the area south east of Edson where they were looking for information about the disappearance of Marie and Lyle McCann.
Police involved the RCMP helicopter, a police dog, civilian volunteer Search and Rescue teams from Brazeau, Parkland and Hinton in their search, and the RCMP Forensic Identification was also on scene.
The couple's burnt motorhome was found in the Minnow Lake area on July 5, 2010, but there was no evidence of the missing seniors. RCMP have confirmed though that both the motorhome and the light green Hyundai Tucson the couple was towing behind the motorhome were seen at the campground on the morning of July 5th, the day the motorhome was burned.
According to RCMP, the missing light green Hyundai Tucson belonging to Lyle and Marie McCann may have been spotted in Prince George, B.C. sometime in the last four days. A couple made a report at the Prince George RCMP detachment saying they spotted a similar SUV with an Alberta plate matching the one on the McCann's vehicle.
RCMP have reportedly received more than 80 tips in the case since appealing to the public for help.
The investigation is still ongoing.
