Police seek person of interest in attempted abduction at Montrose School

Police have released a sketch of a person of interest in the attempted abduction of a child at Montrose school on Wednesday, April 27th.

The person of interest is described as a white male in his thirties, approximately 5’ 10,” with shoulder length brown hair and square framed glasses.

The man was seen wearing jeans, a long sleeved brown shirt, and light coloured shoes on the day of the attempted abduction.

On April 27th, a 7-year-old girl was playing at the Montrose playground around 5:30 in the afternoon.

An unknown man approached her, and attempted to grab her. She was able to break free and run home, where her parents called police.

A witness at the playground reported seeing a man running from the park and provided a description to police.

Anyone with information about the attempted abduction is asked to call the Edmonton Police information line at 780-423-4567.

This was the third attempted abduction at Montrose School during this school year. Investigators say this incident is not connected to the other two incidents at the school.
