Police are asking for the public's help as they search for three people who may be armed and dangerous after an alleged home invasion in the city's southeast on Monday morning.

A 30 year old man called police at 2:30 on Monday morning claiming that his brother and sister-in law were being forcibly confined by three suspects at a home located in the area of 43 Street and 36A Avenue. He also claimed to have heard a gunshot inside the home, but no injuries were reported.

He claimed that prior to the incident, the three individuals had assaulted him and locked him in the trunk of a car. He claimed to have escaped while they were driving before running to a neighbour's house to call police.

Police discovered the man's brother and sister-in law in their home. The woman was taken to hospital for precautionary reasons and the man was taken to hospital for injuries he sustained during the incident.

Police believe that the incident is not random.

Investigators are asking anyone who sees a 2010 Volkswagon Jetta, dark blue in colour and bearing the license plate ZGG 384 to call the police non-emergency number at (780) 423-4567.
